      Pros

      The orientation made me excited to work for this system. I have heard other hospitals in this system are better, but this is a review for Southwest Hospital.

      Cons

      Not a lot of team work between departments and with coworkers, nurses take a lot of short cuts, seemed unsafe to me. The culture of the unit was very lazy. As a nurse I was constantly stocking items and cleaning rooms. (no one else was, people leave there supplies everywhere) They keep hiring nurses and the new nurses quit within a year. I now understand why, I am leaving after only 6 months of being there.

      Pros

      Small unit, free parking, It is a level III but they do not do surgery therefore the acuity is not high

      Cons

      Poor management, if you want to live on night shift with no chance to go onto day shift then you will be okay. benefits are terrible
