Pros

You are surrounded by loads of people very similar to yourself and can leverage their skills to really make yourself the best salesman possible. You You'll get to work with the major high-tech trending technologies such as data storage, cyber, cloud, etc.. and be prepared for the next level

Cons

If you get put on a PPM client, you're screwed. They don't put any effort into the firm and the reps on the accounts are literally booking meetings for no purpose. Aside from that, depending on client turnover, you can make it through your entire memoryBlue tenure without ever earning a raise or receiving a bonus - and at their salary, it is not enough to live off of. The culture has steadily gone downhill to where their "alumni" program isn't even a sought after achievement, most of the SDRs I worked with wanted to get out of the door by any means necessary after 3-6 months

Thanks for posting your anonymous feedback in this forum. The SDR role at memoryBlue is without question a tough and highly rewarding opening into the world of high tech sales – a very difficult world to crack into. We’ve had a hand in placing over 200 Alumni in that sales world so far and that number is going up every year. In fact, we’re currently posting a series of interviews with some of these standout sales pros on our blog highlighting how valuable their careers in this profession have been (and what starting at memoryBlue meant to those careers). The training, experience, knowledge and skills our early-career professionals receive carries incredible value as our employees launch into this space for good. Blaming a lack of sales success on bad luck is certainly anyone’s right, but it would seem hard to believe that a rep was expecting raises and hefty bonuses when their performance led to high client turnover (which sounds like was the case for you). Maintaining a focus on employee growth and business growth go hand-in-hand here and we are proud to do both at all times. We do hope you’ll stick with sales and find a place where you can work hard and hustle. In this profession, you’ll make or break your career based on the effort and commitment you’re willing to put in.

Pros

You get a chance to experience tech sales from an elementary level. Great entry level position. You get exposure to a lot of different companies, usually local, that allow you to see how many different sales organizations are ran. There are a lot of fun events and team bonding activities.

Cons

It's all based on your client. If you get a client where your quota is completely unattainable, it's your fault and never the client. Performance metrics are constantly subject to change. There is a level of micromanagement instilled in this company that for most tech businesses, is unheard of. The training is terrible.

Thank you for investing time to offer feedback on your experience with memoryBlue. While it is unfortunate that you feel your experience wasn’t positive, your comments help keep us focused on continuous improvement for all aspects of our workplace. memoryBlue is committed to setting equitable, attainable, stretch goals for an average SDR to achieve. With over 80 clients, these goals are different for each client due to a multitude of reasons (client’s technology maturity, client marketing support, etc.). Training at memoryBlue emphasizes skill building and effectiveness over popularity and entertainment value. While this approach may not be for everyone, it has proven to produce results for most. Those who successfully complete the training are highly valued in the marketplace. We hope you find your professional calling and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
