Pros

Friendly co-workers. Great learning system. Some upward mobility. Bonuses.

Cons

Breaks were short due to having to clock-out at the area's station and then walk outside or wherever you were going. Strict policy on tattoos - as if having a tattoo will inhibit someone's ability to sell a door. All positions are hourly, even the store managers, but their compensation increases due to bonuses. Told to place items in people's carts even if they don't think they will need it - literally, pick up the item and place it, or multiples, in their cart. False promises of promotions. Young store managers are overly cocky and not impressive.

Pros

Lots of opportunities. The company really seems to care about you. The owner, john menard even sends every employee a gift every holiday. You get a christmas bonus that increases with time with the company. everyone at your store gets a check at the end of the year if no one sues the store for anything an employee could prevent. As long as you get your work done, management is happy. Its a pretty nice place to work

Cons

everything is dependent on points. if you are late you get points, if you no call no show, you get points, if you call in you get points. and at 10 points you are fired. though any points you earn only last for 90 days, so thats something.
