      I have worked at Menards for one and a half years

      Pros

      As a morning stocker, I know what my schedule will be each week. Usually easy to get some time off when the need arises.

      Cons

      Frequently asked to take on assignments not trained to do and which a full time employ would normally be asked to do. Terrible communication.

      Management usually trusts you to do your job and doesn't look over your back constantly Pay is above average at 9.50 (lived 90 miles away from Chicago) Very active job where you are always busy and feel somewhat free. Room for advancement. If you're a good worker and try to be as unbiased as possible you can succeed. Training is constant. There is always more and more training to do. Including online tests to get yourself more knowledgeable with the product in which your selling

      Cons

      Management can vary and mine sucked after my manager got fired. He got replaced with someone that is afraid to answer things directly and dodge questions. The pay sometimes didn't seem to reflect the work at times. You'll be busting your butt to do things and driving a forklift yet you only get paid fifty cents more than the people that work inside. What a load! Health insurance is WAY to expensive. Nuff said.
