Pros

The pay is decent at $8.40 (if I recall correctly) starting wage and an additional $2 an hour on the weekends. Somewhat flexible with hours.

Cons

They will regularly schedule you for 7 1/2 hour shifts so that they are not required to give you a lunch. If you are a cashier, you will be standing on concrete floors for hours on end doing mind numbingly monotonous tasks, with most likely two 10 minute breaks and an occasional 30 minute lunch if you work over eight hours. The clientele is predominantly white trash, senile seniors and unjustifiably angry contractors. I suppose that's to be expected from a hardware store, though.

Pros

is a well established company with policies that are made to treat you fair. call workers become a family, you learn useful things for life, if you are willing to relocate it is easy to move up in the company

Cons

some policies do not always treat the employee fairly, lots of cleaning, is a retail store so I expect lots of customer service with selling to all kinds of people, open on most holidays and weekends
