Pros

I worked here for three years while in college. I was able to get lots of hours to make money to pay for school. But the shifts were 12 hours and the plant was NEVER closed

Cons

Management had favorites which will happen at any company. Your opinion on how something should be done didn't matter since the management was on another level than you and workers "don't know anything".

Pros

Good training, the managers were always helpful while I was learning the job. My managers were flexible in working around my school schedule. Good opportunities for advancement if you are willing to put in the hours.

Cons

Working weekends was the main downside. The management team had to work long hours and weekends. Average pay in relation to similar companies.

Pros

Most of your co-workers care about helping the new team members learn the job. There are chances to move up, if you're looking to advance. Helping people get the right things to finish their home projects can be a rewarding experience.

Cons

If you are looking to advance, the company pushes very hard for you to move to other locations in order to do so. That can be a good thing, but if you're looking to stay in one area it is a big drawback. Also, many people only visit the home improvement store when something breaks, so it seemed like most customers were angry even before entering the store. Unfortunately, that means sales people have to deal with a lot of hostile guests. It can be a tough work environment.
