Pros

the money is better than most places. it gives you more experience to add to your resume. you get two breaks.

Cons

no respect from upper management. YOUR AVAILABILITY IS IGNORED!!!!!! i put specific hours that i could work and they are being ignored. for instance on saturdays i can work 10am to 4pm do to another commitment yet i am scheduled 830am to 430pm. Do not talk to management about unsafe working conditions.....all they will do is treat you like crap for complaing. get out as soon as you can find something better. weekend pay is not worth the stress of this job.

Pros

The pay is good for the area with high school diploma. There are usually plenty of overtime. Profit sharing. Co-workers are helpful. Job stability is pretty good if your numbers are good.

Cons

Pay raise not worth it. Ability to be promoted not likely. Managers and supervisors rarely give notices to employees about job/hours/etc changes until the hour (from personal experience I was told I was being moved to another area during my pay review without any advance notice. If I did not ask about my hours I would had never been told I start new hours immediately and only 1 manager knew about these changes out of the 3 on duty managers/supervisors). Can not trust what managers/supervisors say verses what they actually do. Culture of Menard lacking. Vacation/sick time. Benefits not very good. You work hard outside in high temp high humidity and managers/supervisors still want you to work harder. Managers/Supervisors don't honor transfer request due to skill in current area. Hours are not very good. Managers/Supervisors always nag employees to do overtime.

Pros

They offer decent pay and Profit Sharing Checks once a year and are not scared of allowing overtime, the opportunity to make some money without any more than a high school diploma is there.

Cons

Once you get into a management role of any kind they expect overtime every week with little or no concern for the overall amount of time you are spending there. Benefits are next to nothing and vacation scale is very odd, not to mention you are constantly badgered to move on/up.
