Pros

flexibility with school and social life some of the people are fun

Cons

people can be cruel and very negative....management and supervisors definitely show favoritism towards certain employees....do not have a very positive attitude during work or even about work walking into work changes my entire mood during the day and can really be a depressing place to work....they do not motivate you to do well at all or enforce anything so its easy to develp a bad work ethic and not care how well or how bad you perform....

Good pay and chance for growth

Pros

The pay for the work that was required is quite high compared to similar companies. The extra $2.50 per hour on weekends is good incentive for weekend workers.

Cons

The only downfall was lack of training as far as merchandise goes. As a member of the front end team, I was very unprepared to answer questions regarding the location of products throughout the store.

Pros

Menards pays exceptionally well, especially for the cashiers, great job for high school or college students to work at and get some extra cash. They also send you gifts for every holiday, some are useful, others are not, it's the thought that counts. I enjoyed the relaxed dress code, and the managers were very flexible with hours.

Cons

In short, the company does not follow its own policies when it comes to guest services. When you try to follow guest service rules and it is met with a problem upper managment does whatever the guest wants therefore allowing their guest to walk all over them. Guests that are regular shoppers at the store know what they can get away with and they do it all the time.
