Pros

Working at Menards came with great pay, first and foremost. Base pay for myself was $17, but all team members made an additional $3 an hour on weekends. We also had an end-of-the-year bonus that increased back on years worked, essentially, the longer you stayed, the more you would earn at the end of the year.

Cons

Worklife culture pushed me to turn in my 2 weeks and seek new employment. Team members were forced to take their mandatory (unpaid) lunch breaks, but the reason so many team members wouldn't take their lunches was because of our workload. Taking our lunch would delay the work needing to be finished, and upper management could be cruel sometimes if work wasn't finished by the end of the shift. As I was leaving, managers were starting to enforce lunch breaks, or else team members would be written up.

Pros

Good bonus. Meet a lot of people

Cons

No family work balance, poor pay, no support from upper management and HR, long hours. Only way to move up is to relocate. Corporate spy through camera system and criticizes instead of offering solutions
