Military style workplace, that’s extremely political

Pros

Speaking from my position only, there was an extensive training process. The amount of videos you watch along with a mandatory course really helps you learn a lot about the immigration process. Also, you can tell that the company truly wants to give their clients a better life and opportunities.

Cons

You never know what’s to come, and must always be on your toes no matter where you are in the building. The amount of cameras, is one thing but the additional fact that they have live mics is another. It feels as if big brother is constantly watching, which does not allow for employees to feel comfortable. Also, you never know who is listening and ready to take what you say back to management, even if it isn’t even negative. They claim everyone is a “family” but they want you to keep everyone at an arms length. My department was told that you were to not engage with the other areas of the firm at all, apparently that even goes so far as having lunch with them as well. You’ll notice that rarely do the employees interact with one another, granted the workplace is not social hour but it is important to allow your employees to feel like they can communicate with others. As sometimes, we all want work to feel a little less like work. Not here though, It was almost military like in the way they control and dictate everything that you can do, and are quick to fire if you aren’t adhering to what their standard is. I was only there for about two months and witnessed at least 11 people get fired..those are not normal numbers. It shows how disposable they treat their employees, interviews are constant as they claim it’s due to “firm growth” but really it may be your next replacement. There are no warnings giving regarding your performance, so you may not know what you’re doing wrong until they bring you into HR letting you go and even then you will not get a clear answer as to “why” they’re letting you go. In sum, there’s A LOT of politics involved in working here and they expect you to follow them blind. Saying anything in opposition or a slight contrast in opinion can be classified as “pushback” and send you out the door. Do yourself a favor, and just keep to yourself. It’ll be easier to help you recount where you may have gone wrong in the event they let you go. Lastly, watch your back, your words and actions. Know that they have a revolving door and at any moment you can be leaving out of it as fast as you came in. Last bit, if diversity matters to you as it does to me, this may not be the place. I could count on one hand the amount of employees who looked like me worked there, and 2 were fired in my first week. View there site and socials to get a better feel for the “diversity” or lack thereof.

Don’t work here

Pros

They have good pay I guess

Cons

They are terrible. Management is awful. They expect writers to write more than possible. You have to write 45 pages per day and if you don’t you’ll be fired. They also will not accept any constructive criticism. They say constructive criticism is good but then get angry when they receive it. Management thinks they are above everyone else and talk down to anyone below them. All workers know how bad they are and we talked about it amongst ourselves. Do yourself a favor and don’t work here. It’s not worth it
