Pros

I loved Mercy, particularly the can-do spirit of the students and many of the employees. My impression was that it is an institution that is determined to succeed and investing in its own learning as well as that of its students. They're trying a lot of new things, learning from their mistakes and iterating. It is a great place to begin building a career in higher ed. Other pros: -Location, esp. the Dobbs Ferry Campus -Tuition remission -Lots of friendly, energetic, and smart colleagues -President Hall is an inspiring leader

Cons

-Low pay -Poor communication within and between departments led to avoidable misunderstandings (some of which are showing up in these reviews).

Pros

Generous vacation, sick, and personal time If you have to work on the weekend, you get a day off during the week Easy to have a work life balance Great job if you have little experience working in higher education to get your foot in the door Generous tuition remission

Cons

The turnover rate is abysmal, many employees have been there a year or less There is no system in place to train new employees, each campus does it differently Only a handful of people have been there for more than a few years and they are normally in higher positions because of all the turnover Assistant and associate directors more often than not are too young and inexperienced for their roles Management is not supportive of their employees, they yes you to death when you have new ideas and do not follow up with them Salary is not competitive with schools in the area
