You can make a lot of connections. They hire and promote from within a lot. Great coworkers. Not a very labor intensive job. Friendly staff. Lots of opportunities for career development within.

Cons

Some events are required and may fall outside of your work hours. Schedule a lot of meetings. Some departments do not interact well with others and take weeks to months to complete a simple task.
