Pros

The co-workers will keep you going and are some of the nicest people on earth. They always have each others backs and you will make new lifelong best friends and that is the ONLY reason I gave them more than 1 star.

Cons

Most Mid and upper management along with HR are a terrible joke at this facility. Hiring a department manager with zero experience in management or in how a department needs to be ran is never a good idea, keeping them in a leadership position is suicide! They are much too busy having meetings with each other to do their jobs or work in their departments to the point they shove their work off ( right down to managing their workers) off on select department coworkers with little to zero experience as a department leader. With the exception of a select few departments, management can not be bothered to even help out by moving a pen to lessen work load much less pull a shift. No communication. At all. One department has lost more than half of their staff in the last 6 months all due to their manager.

Pros

Very caring local staff in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Very competent physicians. Remarkably, excellent equipment and EHR system.

Cons

Mercy is a lousy hospital chain. I think they are disloyal employers. My case? I left with over 100+ hours PTO that should have been paid according to the only policy I could find that states past 90 days you get paid your remaining PTO. They made a change in 2013 that moved that to 3 years-I had 2 yr 9 mo.'s not missing a single day of work. They stiffed me then had the audacity a month later to send me a bill for unused benefits. I've seen them let go several close friends with over 15 to 30 years with the hospital including one man who literally put his life on the line in an active shooter situation years ago at the hospital. Not to mention another friend whose entire family has worked for them in different capacities. It's not the local officials but the corporation that has cut throat management in the guise of a charitable hospital. If you have to start your nursing career here then do it but you will eventually leave, most everyone has.
