Pros

Close to home and well respected company.

Cons

Very stressful. They are working with less people. All departments dump work on service and there is not enough support. Too many responsibilities and performance is heavily focused on unrealistic metrics.

Pros

people are very nice, that is all thre company has going for them

Cons

it is a place of completly chaos, nothing get accomplished. there is not enough underwriter or processors, usually takes 3 months to close a life insurance and another 2 months to book an annuity. The system is always down, there is no accountability

Great people, poor management

Pros

MetLife's IT office in the Denver area contains many skilled developers whose expertise range from mainframe to front-end and database management. I appreciated collaborating alongside these knowledgable individuals. I attribute a lot of my gained skills to the developers. In addition to having developers as project partners, the management will provide exposure to those they choose; if a person happens to be on a high exposure project, then this is viewed as a pro.

Cons

The major downfall of MetLife's Denver IT office, more specifically the Solutions Delivery side, is the political environment created by upper management. A fair amount of promotions are handed out to individuals with less industry experience rather than the experienced and educated. Management promotes individuals based on how much you can chit-chat rather than technical experience and success on past projects.
