MetLife IT wants you to think it provides its employees with a good work life balance, and in many ways it does, but many groups in the IT organization are treated like external consultants by the business: worked very hard and not considered an equal partner. I would negotiate very hard on salary before seriously considering any IT role at Met, because otherwise there’s a good chance you’ll feel bitter about the hours you put in.
