Pros

- Pay and benefits are top of the market. - You will feel like you're making a contribution. - Amazing community and social atmosphere. - Separation pay is usually 3+ months plus 6+ months of COBRA to soften the blow of sudden termination.

Cons

- Executive leadership can and will tell you one thing then do another moments later. - There is no promise of security. There are no criteria to determine whether you will or will not be selected for termination when the company does lay offs. You can be one of the top performing members of your team but for reasons known only to executive leaders, your job can end at a moment's notice.

Pros

I felt very supported by my managers

Cons

Its both a pro and a con but it felt like you needed to justify to engineering leadership why documentation is important by providing metrics. It was definitely more data-driven approach but there are some benefits to documentation that's difficult to quantify.
