      Pros

      Great benefits. Smart people. Some good people.

      Cons

      What would you do if your job offer pay wasn't what they actually paid you after starting? This happened and came with an "oh, we made a mistake." Company doesn't value diversity. They offer no growth or learning opportunities. Can be very military in some parts of the company...top down orders with little regard for what's actually needed. Chaotic. Lots of people doing mediocre work, but patting each other on the back to get performance bonuses.

      Good Company Culture but DS role feels restrictive

      Pros

      -good benefits including $3000/year wellness benefits, $260/month commuter benefit, free food, gym, good insurance -supportive managers and colleagues are generally nice to work with -easy to transfer between teams

      Cons

      -unsure if the company direction is good. Are we really just going to copy TikTok? Is Metaverse really the future? -moves very slowly for certain teams. A lot of pushback from legal and policy. Always need a lot of 'alignment' from a bunch of people (too many people) -the data scientist role is restricted to mostly analytics. we don't build models or do data engineering work since every role is specialized. As a result I haven't learnt anything new ever since I started working at Meta -frequent re-orgs

      Awesome job but can't look past company wide values.

      Pros

      Lot's of benefits, friendly coworkers, amazing locations.

      Cons

      All the benefits feels like they are trying to buy out your silence. You can tell the company is doing shady actions, and that there is an active social hierarchy in the office space (contingent workers get looked down on/ bottom of the food chain) lots of under staffing issues, and seeing how the buildings interpersonal relations are with other tenants in the building.
