Pros
- Work with some of the smartest people you'll ever work with - Great package and perks, not really rivalled in other UK companies except for the obvious - Travel - Depending on team, you'll be working on things that have never been tackled before which is exciting - CV, having Facebook does capture attention, there is no doubt about it - If you are at a point in your career where you are willing to sacrifice a lot of your free time to work then this could be a good move as you will be rewarded for it. If you are looking for a healthy balance I would not recommend it.
Cons
- Work feels like it never stops, there is no boundary between work and life and your colleagues will always be working more than you - Management are aware of people overworking and the negative health implications of this but the system still prevails - Information overload, messages, notifications, posts, it's a full time job trying to manage that effectively - Corporate, FB is now at a size where there are meetings galore - The current working environment suits highly technical people, if your strengths lie elsewhere including those able to empathise you'll slowly but surely be ground down to a point where you leave, resulting in the company being populated by the same mindset. So much for 'bringing your authentic self to work'. - Ethics, question if the company is doing the bare basics to maintain some form of positive PR rather than actually taking a strategical approach to fighting some of the issues their products are facing
