Pros

- gained some industry experience - built some valuable connections - better able to spot wolves in sheep's clothing after working here

Cons

- immature and shameful management that frequently engages in yelling and various emotional outbursts, as well as muttering dispicable things under their breath to prevent from being heard by anyone - hard work is not valued here - no overtime pay - there is no designation for sick pay, it comes out of your vacation pay - expected to work late hours and shift entire work schedule; punished when not able to do so and this was not the same set of expectations discussed during the interview where work-life balance was emphasized - gossip culture rooted in fear - rude and undercutting employees - no true departmental leadership - values expressed during multiple orientation sessions are not reflected in or demonstrated by departmental management - benefits structure needs drastic improvement - horrible commute - not worth the headache

Rampant Descrimintation

Pros

> Financially stable employer i.e. they are stingy which means you will work 5 jobs but you know you have a paying job for tomorrow

Cons

> No paid maternity leave > Open descrimination by skin color --> my white employees were getting more money and compensation where as my asian employees (even if they were better) were never considered for higher compensation/pay/or position > People are not expected to have work/life balance i.e. they will work you but reward your subordinates (as long as they are white!) and your supervisor but not you > They believe in smoke screens i.e. if you do this we will consider rewarding you etc > Managers who you disagree with will mislead you to believe you will grow but in reality be working out plans to promote their friends > Leaders (at VP+ level) are brought in because of their connections and allowed to hire their team (even if it means open discrimination i.e. an all white team!) > Leaders (VP+) are allowed to openly not support their asian employees but plenty for white employees

Methodist Health System Response

Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. Methodist Health System knows that employees who are happy, healthy, and fulfilled take better care of patients. That’s why we have a robust benefits program that includes paid time off and extended illness benefits that can be used for maternity, sick leave, vacation, and holidays. In addition, we offer a prenatal program, wellness program, pharmacy coverage, dental and vision plans, a retirement plan with matched contributions, and more. Methodist is honored to be ranked No. 2 on DiversityInc’s 2018 Top 11 Hospitals and Health Systems list. While we strive to have a workforce that reflects the communities we serve and one that is welcoming of diversity, skills, and talents of all groups, it sounds like that is not what you experienced. We take comments about discrimination very seriously and want to know more. If you’d like to confidentially discuss your concerns or have questions about Methodist’s benefits or opportunities to advance your career, please email us at hrcareer@mhd.com.

Pros

The people. Primarily the rank and file caregivers. Dr's and Charges tend to be too egotistical.

Cons

Poor benefits. Worse Medical I have ever had. You get sick hours but can't use them unless you run out of vacation days. Never heard of such a thing. They might as well not bother. In-House Police Force that is second only to the Stormtroopers of Nazi Germany. Constantly being asked to give to this and that. Pay here is below average and still you get panhandled by the staff frequently. Did I mention pay (see above). lowest average among all local health facilities.
