Pros

The nurses and physicians are good, caring people and they love their patients. There are many good people at Methodist Health System.

Cons

If you're offered a job in administration - run. The CIO will target you for character assassination and harassment if she sees you as a threat. Ask the CMO. The closer you office to her, the harder it is to do your work without the interruption of her loudly dragging the names of your colleagues through the mud. She's in and out of offices trying to churn up trouble. She has no problem with lying to protect herself and has been known to read staff emails. She got a few meaningless awards and seems to have the wool pulled over administration's eyes. She exaggerates her experience and training just look at the website where is says she "pursued" postgraduate studies in management information systems at George Washington University. Yoda says, "There is no try, only do." Patient Safety is in trouble. The CIO is responsible for the IT system nurses pull discharge instructions from. It has dangerously inaccurate information, that has been given to patients in the past. Terrifying this is what critically ill patients can be sent home with. She refuses to fix it because the new Epic system will solve the problem in a year or more, and she doesn't want to spend the time or money. Maybe she just hopes no one will die because of her decision.

Not The Best Place To Work

Pros

Willing to hire at entry level.

Cons

ER department is very unprofessional and the turn over rate is very high across the board. After two years I could count on one hand the people who were still there when I started. The environment is very toxic and if you're a good person with morals and ethics, you will hate it and not last. It's also not easy to move up because management will block you from getting promoted. This place makes the best place to work list because they basically force you to do the survey and of course it's not anonymous like they lead you to believe.
