OK Wage and Steady work, but

Pros

Steady Work. Pay and benefits ok. HARD to get fired if you show up most of the time and don't fail drug test's to often (I'm serious). If you get enough years in you retire with a pension (but you do pay into it, more than social security)

Cons

Managers typically are not very good. They walk around with a "god" complex (note the little "g") because METRA is afraid to discipline any of them. Manager's NEVER get fired. They hire flunkies from other Railroads and they stay there because Mediocre is the norm for METRA. Beyond the trades not much room for advancement.

Pros

you get a pay check. insurance coverage.

Cons

no bonuses. an annual raise is not guaranteed. no 90 day review. no accountability. a lot of people have quit in 2019. they are in trouble when people retire and no one knows what they are doing. no discipline for those who don't work. human resources don't know what they doing.
