Fresh out of college, I was searching for an innovative, productive and established company. Obviously, I wanted to have intelligent co-workers with a strong work ethic. With an engineering degree, I expected to work in a quiet, cold, boring office. MetroStar is the complete opposite. I truly enjoy coming to work every day. When I started working, there was no "intro period" to get to know everyone - I immediately felt like part of the family. One of the first questions I was asked on my first visit to MetroStar Systems was what my goals are. Minutes after I mentioned my goal of becoming a Project Manager, the Director came into the room to speak with me about what positions were available that would best suit me. MetroStar is the first place I've seen that genuinely cares about personal growth as well as that of the company. Now, as an Associate Project Manager, I am doing what I have always wanted to do.

Cons

The commute can be long depending on where you live.

Pros

Diverse projects in digital and IT support services. Agile methodology. The people are nice and the party food is good. Nice grounds to walk around. Ping pong and video games in the back office. People work hard and play hard.

Cons

If you live in DC or Maryland, the commute home can be long. But the company has projects in DC and Maryland, so you have options.

Pros

Of all the contracting companies I've been involved with over the years, this company always stands above all others in that we are all treated more like family than like numbers. Time and time again I feel like the company has my back, which is huge. The companies general methodology in most cases is very modern and fast paced. Great benefits package. Very little micromanaging, so you will be left to do your work. And if you are a Rock Star on the job, you will be recognized for it. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Cons

Not much clout seems to be put into employee referrals. I've never been able to get anyone that I know hired.
