Pros

Great benefits, standard 8-hour work days, major company to put on resume

Cons

Slow growth, salaries low compared to the private sector, easy to get stuck doing the same repetitive dull function, but easy to avoid if active enough

Pros

being outdoors, meeting people while taking tolls, giving directions and feeling I've helped. Most staff very kind and helpful

Cons

the city doesn't want to hire anymore permanent office employees and pay benefits or pensions. They take advantage of desperate people to work a max of ONE year, and then we're on our own. And the permanebt officers treat us as just passing thru, no respect..
