Pros
The benefits are great, you have health, dental, vision, etc. for a small bi-weekly fee. Even legal services if you sign up for that.
Cons
The processes and operating soft wares are ancient. The laid back environment allows much of the administrative employees to slack and work at their desired pace. The managers overlook that and tend to give the hardworking employees the workload. Upper management salaries are the only fair salaries. Upper management is not very attentive to the issues under their jurisdiction, their solution is to move the employees around until no one complains anymore but nothing is resolved. Email wars are a part of the workday. Very little room for growth within your own department. Managers are told to micro-manage, pressure, and threaten with write-ups, not encourage staff to do better. No employee incentives what-so-ever but that I can understand (maybe) since we operate with tax payer money. Some of us have a good gig, minimal work and lots of cafecito. Some of us get scolded, pressured, and have your and your manager's workload on your back to complete. Not a place to work if you want your 8 hour day to make a difference.
