Pros

Michelin offers a stable working enviroment with salaries in line with local markets. They offer a lot of internal trainings and have strong organizational culture,

Cons

Slow career development (for Eastern Europe production facilities at least. They do not offer external trainings (internationaly recognized acreditations). Since it is a french born company the overall feeling of the organization is a bit rigid and conservative.

Pros

A great company to work for: a relatively good pay (there's much better out there but there's much worst out there too), proper tools and systems at your disposal to do your job and develop your skills. Great opportunities to move sideway and upward in the company for those open to move to/from US, France and many other Countries around the world. There are still a lot of great people working there and fighting to do the right thing. The focus on "customers" and "consumers" is genuine and reflective of many of the company intiatives.

Cons

Too process-oriented, slows down efficiencies and aiblity to move swiftly and focus on the real job. Tries to overcompensate by pushing down gazillion initiatives (often with unreasonably tight timelines) on increasingly skimpier human resource. This results in overworked and overstressed employees at every level of the hierarchy & ends up bringing the worst out of people instead. In order to survive in this environment where it's a constant race against time, employees need to focus on spitting out output and no longer care and fight to do what they know and believe is a better way forward... Michelin has not been walking the talk when it comes to respecting and caring for their valuable human resource & they've started paying for it. Employees are learning to let go and not care as much in order to keep their head above the water.

Pros

Job security has been very good (Michelin goes to great lengths to retain talent). Very good benefits (although these have eroded in recent years). Competitive salaries (used to be superior) . Good opportunity for advancement (especially in production/ production management, fewer opportunities are available in technical fields).

Cons

European influence contributes negatively to openness of communications. Performance results often seem skewed to enhance Euro market performance and underplay good North American performance.
