      Good opportunity to learn new technologies, management is generally not good at leading, pay stinks.

      Pros

      There are a lot of people without a work ethic, so that makes it easy to stand out. I've had lots of opportunities to learn new things. There is easy flexibility to take time off. Benefits are fair or so-so for the technology field, and decent compared to most work places. Work environments range from old and yucky to very modern and spacious.

      Cons

      Have to join a union for $70/month, and pay parking for over $50/month. Salaries are low, and managers have little leeway to giving raises or promotions. What you start at for salary is what you'll be at for a long time. The way to increase it is to get promoted to a supervisor, then get switched back to technical worker, a process taking years.

      Pros

      Very flexible schedule, easy to get time off, great benefits (vacation and sick pay, retirement plan, health coverage, etc.), certain employees and supervisors are personable and friendly

      Cons

      Very little job security - the university is eliminating more and more positions these days. Certain management at MATRIX seems unconcerned with the work of "lesser" employees.
