I worked part time as a supervisor with Dining Services for one year.

Pros

- coworkers are usually very pleasant to work with - the work place is relaxed most of the time - free meals

Cons

- student employees pay checks constantly withheld - upper management did not seem to take the above seriously - not all employees that handle food are trained in how to do so

Great place to live and work

Pros

Small town living environment, lots of outdoor activities. Great group of caring people who want you to succeed. Focused on providing skills necessary to get jobs after graduation.

Cons

Funding questions are causing the administration to nickle and dime everything from parking to computer labs to road access. The IT department is an absolute nightmare to deal with, and they have recently decided to close most computer labs on campus. Not the way for a university who's slogan is "Create The Future" - How? With type writers???

Pros

I loved working with the people and there was always someone new to meet and talk to. Houghton is a lovely town if you are looking for a small and quiet place to live/go to school.

Cons

Repetitive work that never changed.
