Pros

Micro Center has a family-like atmosphere and takes great care of their employees. There great benefits and many options for advancement. If you are looking for a different "seat on the bus" whether through advancement or transferring departments, Micro Center and their management staff are more than willing to help you grow into the position you desire. Employees take great pride when comparing the knowledge level and look/feel here in Micro Center to a "big box" retail chain. The difference is recognized by customers on a regular basis. The saying "quality over quantity" comes to mind. While you can bump into a Best Buy, Staples or PC Richard's on any street corner, Micro Center is a "destination store." Customers have driven from hours away just to get the level of customer service that is the standard here. It is great feeling to know that you are part of a company that makes a person drive that far or pay a little more just to receive that level of service.

Cons

Customers in New York are not the easiest to please at times; this sometimes creates a stressful work environment.

Pros

- Always multiple opportunists at hand to grow and move up in the company. - Very flexible when it comes to both weekly hours, and days off. -The work environment is very stable, you can concentrate fully on your work. - The Micro Center team feels more like a family than co-workers. Personal boundaries are always respected, and you feel like your fellow associates are on your side (because they are). I have learned more about technology and have developed my communication skills more in the last four months at Micro Center than ever before in my life. Studying computer engineering at college has not taught me as much as simply working for Micro Center. Their on the job training, coupled with their monthly training puts you in the know with respect to technology. The store is essentially a giant pool of knowledgeable, friendly people who would like nothing better than to teach you all that they know. One of the goals for every associate is to "Grow yourself and those around you". At Micro Center, this is happening every single minute you're working. I noticed that I am always picking up pieces of information that I didn't know, and that almost 100% of the time, that information is used later on while helping customers. In much the same way, I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping newer associates understand the ins and outs of certain products. All in all, my experience at Micro Center as been a positive one to say the least. I highly recommend them as not only an employer, but as the destination for all of your technology needs.

Cons

The only con to working at Micro Center is the fact that being surrounded by the most up to date, most competitively priced technology lead me to buy a lot items. This is not necessarily a con, but there's nothing else I can think of.
