Growing up at Micro Center

Pros

There seems to be a great deal of transparency in the company; it's not too often that you're able to contact the district manager or VP of Sales with relative ease. I think maintaining that "small business" mentality has been critical to the company's success. The store managers are particularly accessible, always ready to address and questions or concerns associates might have.

Cons

Sales can often times be lacking in the "team mentality"; associates do work together, but will often seek personal gains at any cost.

Pros

The store has everything you could need for a computer and more. The staff is knowledgeable and the company provides lots of training for new and existing products. This company has a great community of people working for it who are always willing to help and give advice.

Cons

The really are no major cons to working here as long as you have at least a basic knowledge of computers.

Pros

Micro Center is a great company to work for if you want to grow as an individual. There are often chances to build your work ethic and this in turn gives many chances to move up through the company. Starting at even the basic sales associate level gives you many opportunities and room for growth. In fact Micro Center encourages growth and assists by providing monthly training exercises. These training exercises help associates keep current with technology that is constantly changing.

Cons

The schedules can be pretty demanding, and due to the fact that it is a retail job there is rarely consistency in your days off and you can't have vacation for a few months around the holiday season, but the store is closed on major holidays and closes early on other holidays.
