Microchip Technology Associate Client Engagement Manager reviews

My manager in the south-central region of the United States was horrendous. He repeatedly made inappropriate/unprofessional comments related to my health and personal life. His expressed expectations were poorly communicated, changed frequently without notice, and were completely disconnected from the resources available to me as a new CEM with a fresh account base. He also had had a profound lack of patient and genuine desire to engage substantively with my efforts in the role. I would send him multiple reports highlighting my efforts with my accounts and areas where I needed assistance, he never responded to any of these emails. He fostered a deeply uncomfortable working environment where asking questions was discouraged, understandable mistakes were seen as malicious character flaws, and where honesty was punished. And finally, I was terminated while attending to a family emergency. Main reasons given were based around struggles with my performance and a direct accusation I had lied in one of my weekly reports, an accusation I directly rebuffed to my manager weeks prior and in which he never responded to. I was not given the grace, clear/consistent instruction, and respect needed to succeed in this role. I entrusted in my manager personal details in my life which were contorted and used against me. And to top it off, I reached out to the head of Microchip's America Sales to escalate my concerns and was told I needed "tougher skin." Under no circumstances should you work/apply to be an associate client engagement manager for Microchip Technology in the South-Central United States. Worst experience of my professional career.
