Pros

Talented people (at the bottom), competitive benefits, location

Cons

Pay is lower than average on Glassdoor comparison curve. No bonuses, and pay decreased. Management has unrealistic expectations for volume of work and time frame allotted for completion of projects. The sheer volume of work required for the projects they take on could easily employ twice as many employees. If you survived the recent layoff, you’re rewarded with a heavier workload and decreased pay. No investment in professional development of junior employees and no celebration of senior employees’ loyalty.

Pros

It's a job. Pays the bills.

Cons

Work load doubles every year due to bigger and more desperate acquisitions, CEO gives himself and his two friends brought over from Intel tens of millions of dollars every year while telling everybody else to "lose the entitlement mentality", never expect any pay raise and just be grateful to have jobs. And this at a time when Microchip has record financial results. The CEO has an automatic 8% annual pay increase in his employment contract. He gave himself 12% this year and another $10 million "leadership bonus". He is also receiving more than $1.5 million every quarter in dividend payments. He is a billionaire or close to being one but he doesn't give anything to the ordinary employees. Look at the job postings. They are offering 20% less than anybody else for a given engineering position. Work conditions are worse than at any acquired site.
