Not so engaging in cutting edge technologies

The company struggles with new technology innovation. Management seems more concerned about "milking" (their word) IP than generating new IP.

In the past, they offered no layoffs as a benefit, but that changed in March 2025. Now you get low pay and no gaurantees, so overall not a good deal.

Compensation may be below industry average for some roles and locations. Limited exposure to cutting-edge technologies in some divisions. Growth pace can be slow if you're not in a high-visibility project. Bureaucratic processes and slower decision-making in some areas.

Microchip has a deeply unhealthy culture driven by politics and favouritism. Many teams lack transparency and professionalism, and it often feels like you cannot trust HR or Payroll — private information circulates far more than it should. When the company isn’t performing well, employees are pressured to take holiday so the financials look better, which creates stress and resentment. We were also pushed into a company-wide salary sacrifice, cutting 10% of pay, and those who didn’t comply were treated negatively. Shortly afterwards, a significant number of people were made redundant anyway. Overall, the experience was disappointing, disheartening and far below what you would expect from a global technology company.

Microchip is the epitome of the good old boy network. If you're an older bald white male you'll do great. If you have 2 X chromosomes then don't expect to get promoted beyond manager.

Not working on cutting edge technology

Since last 2 years, organization has been struggling with business, due to lack of right future planning and semiconductor domains bad phase. No hikes, No bonus, No promotions, No new technology & No future plans. No growth in share value since last 4 years. No right recognitions to right focused candidates. Employees who are old are struck with organization without new skill set leads to big burden to organization.
