The pay is well below market value. The commission plan changes nearly every quarter. A very small portion of the sales org actually hits their quota because the goals are unrealistic. It’s constantly a moving target. By the time you adjust to a comp plan and put the mechanics in place to hit it next quarter, something changes. Followthrough on sales initiatives is a joke. You never know why you’re doing some report and how it’s supposed to help you sell more because by the time you finish and submit it to your boss, there’s another report or sheet to fill out and you never hear about that first one. Don’t expect any leads. Marketing is mediocre and you’re expected to be a dialing monkey out of a call center whether you have 6 months of experience or 10 years. Don’t be fooled by the number of job openings there are. It’s not due to growth. It’s to backfill the people who have left this place. This place is toxic. Leadership likes to badmouth people who have quit to the people who are still there. It’s more reflective of the leadership than the sales person. Microdesk leadership talks about having an inclusive and supportive culture but their actions don’t align. They sweep things under the rug—like the fact that there has been extremely high turnover. Morale is so low but leadership chooses to ignore it. Normally would never write a review like this but this place will make you miserable. Save yourself the trouble and look at other opportunities. You’ll be treated as just a number here. When you no longer serve a purpose, they will let you go for bogus reasons.
