Pros

- Location in Manassas OK - Some of the employees are good to work with - Close to big city like D.C. - Good medical insurance

Cons

- Company has no interest in Micron Virginia site - Most hardworking and talented people have left in 2017 - Very demotivating management who treats engineers like secretaries for making presentations and useless updates - Company has Blue Collar Mentality where you are treated like a laborer/worker who won't get any jobs outside Micron especially the workers on H1Bs. - Company projects itself as Fortune 500 company but in reality works like a textile sweatshop in Asia. - Since last year most of the talent has either left Micron or Moved to Asia sites within Micron - Only way to get more money is through promotions and even that is not up to the mark with competitors in Northern Virginia nor with Other semiconductor firms in USA - There is Almost NO annual salary raise to account for INFLATION and cost of living increase with economy. So basically they give you market adjustment or increment like once in 3 years. That is also like a demeaning low percentage. - If you interview with them and don't negotiate a good starting salary then you are basically working on the same salary for next 3-4 years. - If I could go back in time as a Graduate, I would not work for them ever. - Work-life balance is horrible, managers want you to stay beyond your work hours as it is necessary "to show you are committed to company." Only company I have seen in this age and time where salaried employees are monitored like high school kids - Micromanagement is so high that some employees need to take medicines for tension and anxiety due to work related stress (not exaggerating) - The one and only paid cafeteria onsite is so horrible that most employees go out to eat. Food is not even fit for human consumption.

Terrible, be aware this is not your typical Bay Area company!

Pros

- Decent pay but still lagging behind in comparison to other Bay Area companies - The company has a decent annual bonus structure which is a little extra cash in your pocket in the middle of the year. Be sure to read the program guidelines carefully as this may not be too much money when split within the year and after paying taxes. - If you like being on the road and travelling then this might be a good option. Micron believes in face time and promotes a lot of travel.

Cons

Micron offers zero work life balance. This company will take everything out of you and give you very little to nothing in return. Early mornings, working through lunches, late nights and constant travelling are the culture of Micron. Expect to be face time a lot. Micron does not believe in Work from Home and Telecommuting. All the control sits at Corporate in Boise, Idaho and there is little empowerment and decision making capabilities at other remote sites. There is no employee appreciation and recognition. It's all based on who likes you and how well you play the politics. Micron rewards the talkers and not the doers. Creative ideas and people who question the status quo are not welcome here. You will not last too long if you plan to innovate and question the status quo. Constantly walking on egg shells to speak up and give ideas. This is the place for you if you wish to be a follower, follow others and do not want to reinvent and innovate. Decent salaries but still lagging behind in comparison to other Bay Area companies and competitors. Stock awards are not worth much either. For the amount of work and zero work life balance it is not worth it. There is a lack of culture at Micron and too many silo's. There are too many levels and redundancy in roles and responsibilities. Growth and promotion opportunities mainly exist in Boise, Idaho. Growth comes very slow at Micron and mainly comes to those who play the game and have been at Micron, Idaho for a long time. Very heavy meeting intensive culture, you may find yourself in meetings all day and getting very little done. Even basic processes are not set up and you will find yourself scrambling and constantly calling folks for help and just to get by on a daily basis. Be prepared to spend tons of time on just figuring out the basics. For remote sites outside of Idaho there is very little to no training and development opportunities available. Micron invests very little to none in Culture, Engagement, Morale, Rewards and Work life Balance. They do not care about how they treat their employees and operate in a box. Micron does not live and breathe Creativity. Outside of Idaho Micron does not care about New College Grads and Intern opportunities. They operate in a box that only focuses on Boise, Idaho. Unless you are looking to or are motivated to move to Idaho this might not be the most impressive work environment that will offer you great skills, learning or growth opportunities.
