Pros

This is a Magnet hospital with a small-community feel. If you want to work somewhere where you won't feel like you are just a cog in the wheel, Middlesex is a place where you can really shine.

Cons

As with most hospitals, the nursing shortage is always an issue. If you do not have your BSN, you probably won't get an interview, unless you are specialty-certified.

Poor management.

Pros

Great group of nurses! Most of the staff and nurses work well together.

Cons

Compensation! You work more hours than you get paid for. Documentation is redundant, time consuming. Little to no continued education or training is offered. Nurses are often instructed to “google” something they are unfamiliar with. Follow up after hours is common and occurs almost daily. There are no resources for stressed out nurses.
