Pros

In busiest times you’re going to work 50 hrs per week. Normally it’s 40. However, if you need OT, you can work up to 60 almost all the time. Clean environment and good management.

Cons

There’s little to promote an employee to work harder. The very best performance review might get you 1% more than the employees getting by on the minimum.

Pros

Very dynamic work environment, able to work at the desk, in the lab, and the shop floor. Lots of interesting projects, and on the EE side goes in-depth in power electronics. Lots of opportunities for different projects and professional growth across the different BUs. Great benefits through ITW, and while quantity of vacation days is about the average for the area, the company has a shut down week every year, and hour passes that can account for additional ‘vacation’ days. In my experience, I have enjoyed this very much. Great matching on 401k. There are employees resource groups for women, people of colour, LGBTQ+, Latinx, as well as a group of employees that volunteer time to organize fun events such as axe-throwing, kayaking, game days, picnics, tennis tournaments, pickleball tournaments, board game night etc. Employee resource groups network both internally to Miller but also with the broader groups through ITW and it’s subsidiaries. The Fox Valley is a great area with everything you need and ‘space’ to live with lower living cost. Overall safe area with good schools. 3h from Chicago, 1.5h from Madison, 1.5h from Milwaukee, 1h from Lake Michigan, ~3h from UP. There is an airport in Appleton that flies direct to many major cities.

Cons

If you are in Engineering, there may be some flexibility to work from home depending on the project or project stage, but generally there is a need to be on-site. Very role dependent, however, and something to be discussed with your hiring manager.
