Pros

Miller has a very diverse business model. There are oppertunties to grow, and prosper here. Depending on you skills set an employee can propser if you are driven and motivated. In less than 10 years I have gone from a lower employee to an office employee. I have had really great mentors, and people who encouraged me to strive for more. The benfits are good, with a 3% 401K match and a 1/2 up to 6%. Health insurance is awesome if you are a single healthy person and participate in the healthy living program. I pay less than $20 a pay check for health dental and life insurance.

Cons

With all the positives with Miller you also have minor issues with culture. People tend to become clique, I have been a part of many Business units. The one problem I have seen is childish behavior when some one isn't liked by a group. Be it verbal or social neglagence, it is made clear that people will under cut you poltically if you are not liked. It is easy to get caugh up in those situations, but with the changing demographic and reitiree's the next generation may be able to solve these minor accurances. Some BU's work ALOT of over time, so if you do not want to work 50-60 hours a week some of the commercial division may not be for you. Management is constantly changing, and we have had two VP's leave the company in the past three years. Be aware of these changes. Higher level positions want to see degree seeking individuals.

Pros

Benefits and good pay is good.

Cons

Very stressful job for a person who have an degree and experience. Alot of negative co workers that will lead you out the door. They will snitch on you if you say something wrong even though they are the ones that is pushing for it. Also the balance between family and work is really hard if you are a tester on the line too. Poor management, bad communication and not really welcoming if you are a production worker. I would not recommend this job to someone who have a degree and is still young. I would recommend this job to people who have been on the line at miller for 20 years to be a degreed tester.
