Environmentally friendly company that is also supportive and active in the local community.

Cons

When you perform well you often gain more work as your reward. Once you work for a long period of time you can almost gain tenure which makes it impossible to fet some go or motivate.

Great job out of college. Earns you a lot of prestige in other industries.

Cons

Feedback about individual performance is very limited. It is a "good ol' boys" club. You work a lot of hours. A lot.

Pros

They are the leaders in quality control and process development. Overall the people are great to work with, although very politically and religiously conservative. There are tons of opportunities for development work and improvement of products and development of new products. If you enter out of graduate school, there are limited layers for vertical movement, and if technical, those require you to enter the business side.

Cons

The new senior leadership team is very short sighted. They are instituting massive cost cutting measures, some which are a bit excessive and stifling and real organic growth. The corporate culture as a whole is resistant to any real change and very slow to adapt. The company expects undying loyalty, while no longer providing it. (Granted I was unhappy there, but they are facing a large layoff in senior management.) There is also a cultural divide between the operators and management, almost as if because the operators do not have degrees they are not worth of the same respect.
