Pros

Expectations are low. Perfect place to drop anchor.

Cons

Expectations are low. Technology owner considers MVC bleeding edge. System does not adhere to any current standards for data security. PII stored with little consideration. Leadership allows unprofessional behavior. Team members feel free to yell at each other during most meetings.

Pros

-Unmatched resources of a large company, but work teams have a small local feel -Entrepreneurial feel -Make your own destiny. There are countless opportunities to be imaginative and develop new solutions for clients, regardless of your level. -Unlike other companies there are not a set number of senior positions. When consultants deliver excellent results and their client base grows, new senior positions get created. -Compensation is closely tied to your contribution (not just number of hours), those who add more value to the company are compensated more. Salaries are average, but bonuses are well above other company bonuses for average and above average employees. -Flexible hours -Work with brilliant people -Low turnover, especially after working for Milliman for a year or two. Below average employees tend to filter out due to the self driven atmosphere.

Cons

-Experiences vary by office and practice, since individual practices have a great deal of autonomy -The work is more demanding than a fixed 9-5 job, but you can manage your own time -Review process is informal. Feedback is given throughout the year as work is done on different projects and may not be summarized well at the end of the year.
