      Pros

      Plenty of room for growth as an actuary Great for people who can self teach Good work-life balance is actually possible

      Cons

      Management holds their employees to a high standard (although this is not necessarily a con). Not a lot of growth outside actuarial field

      Pros

      Work with smart people, freedom to explore different areas of practice, and to become an expert in a specific area. Milliman has the feel of a small employer with the benefit of a multi-national presence.

      Cons

      Offices compete with one another, rarely work together, the environment is not suited for career advancement for non-actuaries, with the exception of a select few. While data scientists and clinicians are needed by the actuaries, they work for actuaries and the non-actuary opportunities for career advancement is limited.

      Pay was bottom tier Management was very aggressive, borderline abusive Turnover is the highest I've ever seen No room for advancement Cut throat enviroment Long work hours
