      Pros

      There was a golden age at the company that disappeared at the end of 2019. It was never perfect but employees had pride working at MBO. I compare it to how employees must have felt working at companies in the days where you still had 30 and out retirement and had pride in the brand you worked at.

      Cons

      Tech in America is rotting, being bought up by VC’s like Vista who care zero about humans. Data and Capitalism rule supreme that benefit the few. Today’s Mindbody is a clear example of this. A once great company isn’t even a shell of its former self anymore.

      DON’T WORK - OFFSHORED AND DYSFUNCTIONAL

      Pros

      7-8 years ago this was a decent company with passionate employees based primarily in the US. After the PE (private equity) acquisition by Vista, the staff and talent has been cut to the bone. First half the staff was laid off and then replaced with India. Now they’re doing more layoffs and expanding India and adding Brazil as an offshore hub. Also, we’ve been through changes in CEOs and leadership roles 3x in 4 years. DO NOT WORK HERE!!!

      Cons

      - Layoffs every year (sometimes multiple times a year) - Demoralized workforce (no equity, lowering comp packages) - Consistently shrinking customer base for over 5 years - C-Suite all aspire to be Elon Musk (and will say so), but not in a good way - 25+ year tech stack that is so broken that if you look at it for a few seconds it breaks - Terrible cross team communication (13.5 hour difference between California and Pune, India) - Competition has caught up and surpassed Mindbody, and customers are realizing it especially when they have to deal with offshore people to resolve issues) - Leadership can’t make decisions
