Pros

Great benefits and pay. Possible remote work options. Awesome team mates and a great culture (past)!

Cons

The company has suffered from poor management and a lack of clear vision from its leaders. In 2020, the first round of layoffs occurred, and since then, there have been frequent changes in the CEO and high-level executives. The initial management team aligned with the company's values, but the current leadership team is completely opposite to Mindbody's core values. They even changed the company values to suit their own. I would say the new leadership team is arrogant, self centered, play favorites and absolutely cannot be trusted to keep their word!!! In 2022, the company underwent another significant round of layoffs. Layoffs are not uncommon, but the way they were handled was extremely poor. Conducting layoffs during Diwali vacations demonstrates how little the management knows or cares about the India office. The employees who were laid off were informed through a highly insensitive zoom call, and they had to navigate through confusing policies to receive their dues. These decisions were made without considering how things work in India, with directives coming from the US. It's best to avoid this company. It has deviated significantly from its promising early years. Although the pay may be good and they claim to offer good work, is it really worth working with such individuals when there are numerous companies that do far better without even trying?

Pros

When Mindbody was Mindbody it attracted some great people who genuinely believed in the mission. The work life balance was good, the culture was really positive and it was a great place to work

Cons

2022 was the world's strangest reverse hostile takeover in which Mindbody bought Classpass but the Classpass CEO took over and proceeded to promote CP employees in every area whilst making mass redundancies to MB employees seemingly at random, across every area, overnight. The culture at CP was not good, over inflated egos and job titles, matched with poor business acumen at every level, and those are the people in charge now. So long Mindbody, it was great until it wasn't.

Pros

GREAT product. I have been a huge ClassPass/Mindbody fan for several years now. Unlimited PTO & remote-first culture. Growing DEI program.

Cons

I have worked at Mindbody for ONLY a few months, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I have been at a few other tech companies and this was the most bizarre experience I have had. The company has several glaring issues that made it a difficult place to work. The company is financially unstable but that is the norm in tech right now. One of the major drawbacks of leadership/management is the lack of support and COMMUNICATION. I struggled to receive clear direction and feedback on my work. There was a lack of communication, which often led to confusion and frustration. You have to play a game of telephone to get anything done. Furthermore, the culture at MB was highly stressful and toxic. Unrealistic deadlines, manipulation, and constant gossip to deliver results created an atmosphere of constant anxiety. Employees were pitted against each other rather than encouraged to work together towards common goals. The Mindbody "versus" ClassPass legacy attitude was palpable. Managers were constantly putting down their colleagues behind their back. I noticed this my first week. The wellness perks are all to keep employees sane at this point. Another significant concern was the inequitable compensation. The salary offered by MB was below industry standards, and tenured employees were making significantly less than this and this is well known internally. I had a manager and director with barely any prior tech experience which was odd...turns out this is a pattern. Overall, my experience at MB was disappointing. The lack of support, inequitable compensation, and unsupportive work culture made it a challenging place to thrive professionally. From my short time there, tenured employees are mentally drained. If you got laid off, this can be a short-term landing pad while you continue your search.
