Pros

I enjoyed my patients as well as assisting them with their hearing aids. I also enjoyed selling and creating relationships with my patients.

Cons

Not much room for growth. When I accepted the job, they outlined what my responsibilities, however once I accepted the position 3-4 months later, they wanted me to clean bathrooms, toilets, sinks, dust, vacuum, etc. I refused to be the "cleaning person" after all they never explained that would be part of my job duties once I accepted the position. There was a lot of cold calling, from an out of date database. The company expected results with increase in sales using this phone list. Some of those people had been contacted as back as 2009 and asked that we no longer contact them. Miracle Ear continued to contact these patients, even after they had already purchased hearing aids from another company.

Pros

Loved the patients and the small atmosphere.

Cons

Poor management. Franchise owner did not understand the importance of good employee management. PCC's had to make hundreds of calls weekly with no actual "tools" to encourage people to come in for an appointment. The workload was not ever rewarded and the bonus structure was an unfair tactic to keep employees around. Goals were not easily attainable and management was not supportive in ideas or suggestions to help business. PCC's were tasked with driving all business for the office including marketing efforts. Hearing aids were grossly overpriced in a highly competing market and management was not open to suggestions on lowering to drive higher sales.
