Pros

Miracle Ear is franchise based, so you might have a good franchise owner if you're lucky. 9-5 schedule.

Cons

Up-coding is still an issue at Health Services as someone else said. As are many other issues involving ethics and often laws. I often felt like I was actively hurting my community by working there. They had no covid protections in the office. At all, it was shocking considering the patient base of mostly elderly people. This general lack of compassion and care for patients from the home office was very disturbing. They were spoken about like livestock. They misled about PTO in the job listing, as the "PTO" they were referring to was actually the state obligated sick time. Very little communciation about how commissions worked. They continue to mislead about PTO in newer job listings. Extremely low wages for the expectations of work performed. Alongside constant pressure to be more of a call center employee rather than a medical secretary. Wages seem to be too low across the board for all types of employees. A vicious work culture, built off nepotism, leading to extremely high turnover. Higher ups and HR have no interest in addressing this, taking accountability, or treating their minimum wage staff with even basic respect. There was generally a culture of fear. HR doesn't seem to really know labor laws in general, at least not in states other than Idaho, but they operate in many many states than Idaho. I often had to explain the law, and my rights, to various people above me. It was very apparent to me that there is a culture at this company of failing to let workers know their rights under federal and state law. A complete disinterest in equity or diversity of any kind, which is kind of a given I guess.
