Pros

Coworkers make long time friends. Generally friendly environment except for a few exceptions. Easy laid back atmosphere. Interesting work.

Cons

Used to have excellent 401K under Areva, but new plan isn't even competitive. Compensation is sub-par, but was tolerable given former benefits and relaxed atmosphere. Now, however it doesn't look well. Recent merger and massive reorgs create a completely uncertain environment that will probably settle out, but most likely not soon enough for many employees (and at the expense of many long time loyal employees as well). Many deeply entrenched and obstructive middle managers, heavy handed bureaucracy, and general lack of vision brought this company to where it is today.

Pros

Used to be a positive place to work then Areva placed a couple trainees in charge. See cons that's all

Cons

Upper management is making a mistake by moving company out of state. The lost of employees and employee knowledge will ruin the company.

Pros

Mirion is open to change as seen throughout their LEAN transformation. They encourage employee feedback and even reward employee ideas that have been implemented. The management see that they cannot continue to operator the way it was always done so they are open to new, innovative ideas.

Cons

Changes happen fast sometimes without the proper training or informing the associates of the new process. External learning and coaching is lacking.
