Pros

Emphasis on great place to work and practice, integrative therapies for caregiver stress and shared decision making.... Working in the journey to Magnet! Great staffing ratios and RN residency program. Recent increases in salaries with sign on bonuses!

Cons

Nursing shortage, growing pains and immediate work area tends to be more expensive housing but 20 minutes away are great values. Who can beat the mountains!

Pros

Mission actually cares about the environment for its employees; wants us to be happy, healthy and engaged in our work. They have lots of resources committed to making this the best place to work and to seek healthcare. I could work lots of places, but I choose Mission!

Cons

Every organization has a few things they could improve, but at Mission, the improvements needed are rare. At times, the layers and levels of authority can be difficult to navigate, but I find that the executive leaders are available whenever I need them.

Pros

I am privileged to work at Mission Hospital. Everyday I am apart of a team that delivers excellent care to every patient/family. Each MD, RN, Case Manager really cares and exhausts all resources so each patient/family can have the best outcome. While we are a big hospital, it often feels like family taking care of family. I think this comes from starting off as a smaller hospital many years ago. I have been a pt. at the hospital along with several of my family members and we have all received excellent care. Another pro when working for Mission Hospital are all the perks they offer through a discounted community list (ex. discounts at local restaurants, shops), staff health, day care, a wellness center (it provides massage, acupuncture, exercise classes), career development center, retirement, and financial counseling through an independent company seperate of Mission.

Cons

When working within a larger system there are always challenges. At times the pace of change seems too rapid but this is part of Mission's commitment to stay cutting edge and deliver the best care possible and keep patient's safe. Even though this is a con Mission does always provide training that they pay you for during these transitions. Also, it can take a bit to get through Human Resources and get hired on at Mission but persistence is key and it is worth the wait. I also know that Human Resources works daily to improve this process.
