Poor company planning, led to lay-offs

Pros

-Neat products -Remote work -Great tools - Outcome focused

Cons

-When layoffs happen, it's due to poor leadership of a company. They're also never a surprise...leadership would have seen the writing on the wall for months, yet they kept hiring. -The layoff happened over email during a 1:1 with my manager, who was also laid off. -If money was a concern, I suggest pulling back on things like Swag and the company-wide Christmas card sent out by the CEO.

Pros

At Mission Lane, there is a very flat structure, so anyone can contribute at a high level and that is often recognized by the company. There are some extremely smart people from top to bottom who really care about the mission of the company and do their best to succeed. After the layoffs, the company has been focused, lean and moving towards goals in a very intentional manner.

Cons

Sometimes leadership isn’t the most clear about priorities - it’s a task to extract what’s next, but that’s part of the role.
