Pros

Awesome people working there, great chance to try out naturalist/ranger work if you're planning to make a career out of it. Very strong on a resume.

Cons

Be prepared for hot summer manual labor!

Pros

You will spend a lot of time outside in beautiful woodlands, relaxed parks, and cool riversides. They diversity of projects, upgrades, remodels, chores, and stewardship is enough to keep anyone engaged and active -aka no boredom to be found over there. The work culture is fun, welcoming, caring, interpersonal, and (I think) trying to be better than it used to be.

Cons

There is not any site specific training, or job training what so ever. The record keeping and accountability for manuals, diagrams, logistics, and operations of systems (such as wells, pumps, lagoons, best practices, update/remodels made to buildings) simply does not exist. All of the "seasonal" part-time help you will get is 100% unskilled, untrained, and unqualified labor. This job requires an certain aptitude in mechanics, construction, conservation, people skills, and tool/equipment use. IF, if you can train on of your seasonals...well the season will be over.
