fellow employees are excellent. benefits are very good. products are fun, interesting.

Cons

business is in decline. senior management has difficulty making decisions. risk aversion is king. company is not looking for new opportunities for growth. only worried about losing money and protecting current business. not clear the company can sustain the current business direction for very long.

Much care, fact finding and analysis is performed before important decisions are made. The conservative, Japanese business culture is apparent within the company. Consideration for the common good, continued growth of the company and its employees is priority.

Cons

Limited opportunity for growth and advancement for women or those who are not schooled or working within the engineering departments.

1). One of the very few open research labs in the country 2). Semi-academic type environment, publications are encouraged/required. 3). Small lab, lots of collaborative projects

Cons

Research in some areas has become too product oriented. Need to re-focus on fundamental technologies. Need more univ. collaboration with MIT/Harvard/BU/Tufts.
