It just keeps getting worse

Pros

You occasionally get free stuff from product shots. Experience for your (inevitable) next position somewhere (anywhere) else.

Cons

I don't even know where to begin. HR is NOT your friend. If you aren't part of the main 3 or 4 people, you will feel constantly shut out. We recently hired someone and they didn't stay for more than 2 days because the leads and art director ignored them their entire second day. The "leads" worry only about themselves. While the rest of the team is drowning, one of the leads can be seen shopping online, playing games, and all together NOT helping the team. They have been trying to reduce the amount of work they have to do while piling more and more onto other employees, with not enough staff. Mittera continues to give the current employees more tasks to complete on top of the job they are already expected to complete. They are constantly "letting people go" and distributing their work to (the already incredibly overwork) others. Your position is never guaranteed, be prepared to be "let go" at any time for no reason at all. All leadership seem out of touch with everyone else. When we had multiple laid off, one of the hire ups gathered us to tell us. Then ended the meeting with a cheerful "happy friday!" At 11 in the morning. Work life balance is a myth here. If you are not willing or able to work more than 8 hours, everyone else on the team will act like you're a burden. Putting yourself, health (physical and mental), or family first is frowned upon. Be prepared to not know what's going on, have rules change every other week, and be worked to death. Set boundaries right away or you will find yourself working 12 hour days. As for the actual work environment, it's pretty toxic. It feels like high-school drama all of the time. People are intentionally left out, talked badly about, and all together ignored. There really isn't any upward movement in this company, though they do like to make it seem like there could be. Raises are out of the question. You absorbed another job ontop of yours? You should be getting paid less because the job you absorbed started at a lower pay. Do yourself the favor and don't apply. Don't let yourself get trapped here.

Pros

It's a job. You get free Hy-Vee food from products they shoot.

Cons

The pay is mid, then you work really hard for a 0-2% raise. Not worth it. No yearly bonuses. Your team spends 40% of their day talking bad about their peers in Teams chats, watching tv or online shopping, And they all talk bad about each other, even the ones who spend outside work time together and are friends have at least 3 chats going to talk down about their friends. No professional development in house, just online LinkedIn courses. The Directors never last past 2pm in office and leadership under them won't train because they are under qualified to lead/train. Your training is just watching the most recently hired person. The Art Directors say rude things to you about work you ever never properly trained for and don't bother to train you either. No work/life balance and lunch breaks are discouraged. They just laid off 40-50 people and now those positions reopened and are being branded as "we're growing." Nothing has changed since the 2021 reviews. They just keep buying other companies to acquire clients then lay off current employees to balance the books.

Pros

A job , to get paid is it!

Cons

they dont care about their employees, will let you go after being there for many years, oh and dont expect to get a raise because you will not, you will just get more work piled on your desk and expect to do that plus more, not worth the headache
